Round-robin action in the Purple group came down to a clash between Jasmine Paolini and Qinwen Zheng to decide who would take second place and join Aryna Sabalenka in the semi-finals. So this was the obvious choice for featured match of the day.

Even though the day’s other match between Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina carried no qualifying implications - Sabalenka had already secured first place while Rybakina was eliminated - it ended up as yet another quality match in this captivating rivalry. So it was also worthy of analysis, posted here.

In the most one-sided of their 4 career meetings, Zheng needed just 67 minutes to beat Paolini 6-1, 6-1.
