For the second straight year, Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina met in the final Round Robin match at the WTA Finals.
If last year in Cancun there was a golden ticket to the semi-finals at stake (Sabalenka won in 3 sets), this year’s match carried no qualifying implications. Rybakina was already eliminated while Sabalenka would be group winner regardless of outcome.

Despite the unusually “softer” context, both players didn’t take it easy and produced high-quality tennis, especially during the last 2 sets.
